Help With Atomic Particles & Audio Interaction?
Hi,
I'm new to HitFilm, but I'm trying to set up some Atomic Particles and get them to animate in response to audio.
No matter what I do, when I put the Atomic Particles in my layers, I never get an option to add an audio layer under 'Audio Interaction' - just the mapping settings, but no way to choose an audio layer.
Is something wrong with my installation or am I missing something dead obvious? Any time I've seen a tutorial video, the option is clearly there. Help!?

Oh, I'm using HitFilm 3 Pro on Windows 10.

Did you put any audio in the composite shot for it to choose?
If so, what format? .WAV, .MP3? Other? -
you must add a soundfile in the same composite shot where the atomic-particle plane are

Yes, I've got a wave file layer sitting there at the bottom of my composite, but still don't see any audio layer option under the audio interaction preferences for the particles. Just Map 1-4.

To be clear, I also have another plane that is a Spectrum Analyzer, and it sees the audio layer for THAT one, so I've got an analyzer running in polar coordinates. It's only when I try to do the same on the Atomic Particles layer that I see no option to select the audio layer.

I can't play back the youtube video you've embedded, I think the forum is being wonky

which format is the audiofile? converting an importing to mp3 or wma is the same? and when you install hitfilm new?

Looks like there's a bug with your installation... If you already have an audio file in the same layer working with Audio Spectrum, then obviously Hitfilm can read the audio file.
Try duplicating the Audio Layer, just to see if Hitfilm's being odd and only wanting to read the audio layer for one effect at a time per audio source (which would be strange)... If that doesn't work, back up your project files and maybe try a re-install?
