Some happy news!

A few weeks ago, I was informed that the company I work for is closing up shop in November, making me redundant.   I finish at the end of August however.

This has prompted me to change direction in life.  I'm going to BVE at the end of the month as usual, my yearly ritual.

I've got myself an appointment one of the days, a 1-2-1 with a gentleman from Escape Studios as I'm looking to learn VFX techniques with the possible view of a job in the future.

I'm nervous, and excited too.  It seems a good choice to me, what do you think?

It's a vast change from customer service, which i've done for many years..  

I'm also a little worried that my age might be a problem..  but the chap who I spoke to was impressed by my knowledge and enthusiasm.

YOU... are not "redundant" the company is.  what a cheek the company/system has to label you their short fall.  prepare well!  go on the net do research find out about the folks who work in and their positions etc.  don't go in blind, prove to them that you are interested.  you said It "seems" a good choice to me.... you need to be more positive than that if you want the job don't you think?

Very true..  But this will just be the training..  And that will be an adventure in itself..

I'm aiming high, my aim is to work at ILM
