Excellent!

Great stuff, the black on the demon eye showed the edges up a bit too much for me, maybe a feather mask.

This is a teaser for a new series my friend and I are working on. This was the first time I animated 3D Models in 3D space. I'm not really satisfied with the sound mixing, I found that using the rate stretch tool on audio kind of decreases the quality. Anybody know where I can find long or slow whoosh sound FX?
-
That was cool.
-
This was mostly edited in Davinci Resolve, but the text and last two parts were done in HitFilm Pro.
I wanted to make an epic cinematic intro for a movie review series on my YouTube Channel and saw a tutorial on how to do a Double Exposure effect for video. I'm actually surprised by how well it turned out, but I'm sure there's some improvements that can be made. What do you guys think? Editing, composition, different angles, font?
-
Really nice, my only comment is that it might be a tad long for a YouTube intro.
-
-
Be honest: you've thought of going to a different reality in 2020.
-
This was so much fun to edit!
-
Fun stuff! At least the first one was fun. Couldn't watch the second one because it's marked as private.
-
IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! Here are the four ways to make the lightsaber blade without having to breaking the bank.
-
@CleverTagline I was planning to have that scheduled to be live on YouTube at noon, but it looks like I'll have to change my process. It's been fixed and you can view that and the new tutorial now.
-
@OMurchadha_Pictures Nice job on this tutorial. Very well explained and edited!
Don't forget that the 2-Point Auto Lightsword Effect comes with the FREE version of HitFilm Express. It's not quite as nice as the 2-Point Auto Lightsword Ultra Effect, but it's still pretty darned good.
-
Been a long time since my last tutorial, burn out and my day job are to blame, but I finally got to finishing my latest tutorial yesterday!
-
Very nice tutorial, @OMurchadha_Pictures. I love it!
-
Well presented!
Hah! A year ago this tutorial would be twice the length and would have a long section on masking, Mocha and roto, but... Thanks, RunwayML!
-
Oh man, this is a great logo splash screen. Just really well. done. The changes you made from the first one really made it pop. I liked the first one, but didn't know what was bothering me until you had the word warble in and zoom out. Great job.

I'll be starting my first short film that I plan to send to film festivals in February and I'm really excited for it because it's a passion project based on a really great story that not very many people know about.
I'm a really big fan of Classic Rock (British Invasion) and my favorite Rock band of all time is The Who and I was obsessed with the story of "Lifehouse" before it became "Who's Next" and always wanted to see it as a film, but remained content that I would never see it.
Then last August, the 50th anniversary of "Who's Next", I was hit by inspiration: "What if instead of doing the main story, I do a short prequel story based on one of the characters?" And that was how "The Seeker" was born.
It's going to have some Easter eggs in it for die hard Who fans including a reference to the album cover which has motivated me to finally learn Blender
I'll be recreating the famous concrete monolith in Blender and using HitFilm as my compositor. I already got started and I'm really happy with what I got so far, but I still have some learning to do.
I'll be posting my progress on the short film on this forum
-
It took me a while, even with FXHome and Blender Guru, but I made little (yet some) progress on recreating the Who's Next Monolith.
I'll need to work on some displacement because it still looks like a piece of concrete texture folded over a long cube. Then I'm going to work on making a rocky terrain for it to stand in.
-
Two days of progress in making my own version of the "Who's Next Monolith" for my short film.
Here's Day 3:
And here's Day 4:
-
I learned more about Blender this weekend so I could add more to my Who's Next Monolith.
Day 5: Added some displacement to the terrain.
Day 6: Added some grunge to the Monolith. Refined the displacement on the terrain, and rotated the ground to make it look more like the album.
-
I decided to make my own blu-ray of Netflix's Ultraman because I'm tired of waiting for a U.S. release.
This is my 2nd attempt at making the Main Menu and I love how it turned out.
-
Yup, that's a good Start Menu!
-
I just finished a VFX shot for my upcoming short film The Seeker: A Lifehouse Story and wanted to showoff how I created the wasteland.
-
Very nice!
-
Yeah, great matte painting.
-
I absolutely love this - that wasteland shot is epic! And I know I'm late to the party, but the awesome psychedelic video that prompted this thread is one of my favorite things :) I feel like I could just lie down in a dark room (or an immersion tank) and ascend to another plane 😂
-
No breakdown this time, but I've been hard at work on more VFX shots for my short film and would like some notes on improvements.
All these shots are ungraded. Also, is there a place in this forum where you can get advice on making short films or is this the spot?
-
@OMurchadha_Pictures There are some great shots and angles in this - looking forward to seeing how it comes together with the final grade!
As for a place to get feedback on making short films, this may be a better place: https://community.fxhome.com/categories/practical-filmmaking

Thank you so much @OliThompson
