As has been pointed out elsewhere, the potential for live stage shows with this kinda stuff is a little limited, as it's dependent on the camera angle. However, combine this with an Oculus Rift for everybody and then you're talking....
In fact, this basically is where 3D as a concept becomes valid. Not in crappy, fixed perspective, pre-rendered 3D movies.
