@Andersen01498 The model you gave me has the same problem but on all four legs. It is the part of the leg that actually connects to the body, or I guess you would call it the hip. For some people that might not matter, but for my animation I wanted that part to be able to be animated.
Anyways thanks for being willing to help.

@ZCC_Productions YES!!!! I Found a way to import the model correctly!!!

@Andersen01498 thanks that one has the right groups. Is it possible for you to upload a version without the built in floor and with all of the legs reset? If so that would be great.
-
ZCC_Productions I'm sorry to say I dont think I can reset the legs, but I think you can easily do that in hitfilm

@Andersen01498 Alright, I will see what I can do...

Since the release of the great new AT-AT model from Hitfilm, I re-rigged and animated the whole thing.

Still manual animation? Basically copying your original keys to the new model?
Having that lovely, rigged AT-AT is gonna force me to learn IK in Blender.

@Triem23 I actually re-did the entire thing, using my old keyframes as a guide. Although with the new models animation, I might try to match it to that. Since the model has the correct groups, you could even go as far as making use of the big "piston" like action in the foot as it steps...
Since I needed to download Blender to get this model, I have been learning it a little as well. I found a good tutorial series for beginners that teaches how to model, rig, and animate a robot dog, which would be a similar process to an AT-AT...

@ZCC_Productions I haven't stumble across the series you mention with the robot dog, I'll have to hunt for it. I learned an incredible amount about Blender from this series by Jacob Lewis:
It really help me to get along with the layout of Blender just in the first one.

@ZCC_Productions Thanks for the link. Imagine my surprise when I went to the youtube page and found that I had already subscribed to the channel because of the planets colliding one I suspect and then never explored it further. I'm bad about subscribing to keep track of cool tutorials and never following up...
