Floating and Levitation

I'm trying to create a shot where the actor looks like they're floating. Ideally I would like to be able to see the persons legs, but I can't think of a way to create this effect without expensive equipment.
Has anyone had any luck with this? Seen a video perhaps?
Thanks

Could you be a bit more specific? I got and idea but not sure what you are really trying to achieve.

twhitworth My kneejerk response would be to use a green screen (or blue) for the actor you wish to have levitate and key it out and add it to the scene in a composite shot. You can then manipulate that layer to make it appear he rises and with some careful adjustments to his feet repair any unwanted transparency of the soles of the shoes. Also, after showing the full body as it rises for just a few seconds you can switch to a tighter shot that doesn't show all the feet to eliminate having to do too much repair there.

@GodofThunder Much better answer. I have missed this tutorial completely. Thanks for that info. Never dawned on me to split the subject into two setups and composite together....And just went to subscribe to this channel and found I already was. I got to catch up on my watching...

So do them separately, that may work. Thanks!

Just about to post that one @DataDesign - it's almost like we fake-posted just to promote this last tutorial 😂
