Labeling/tagging clips

Is it possible to tag or label or rename clips on the timeline to help identify what they are without watching/listening to them?

    Unfortunately, Hitfilm does not have the ability to rename NLE timeline clips. Once placed on the timeline the name is fixed to the media panel name they are associated with. at the time they are dropped on the timeline.

    I know I have wishlisted this NLE timeline rename feature. Technically the timeline clips can be renamed as the Hitfilm project structure does support renaming. However, one should not edit the project files and besides it is very cumbersome to do so.

    Is it still impossible do have different metadata describing different clips of a recording? As the original poster I just to easily identify each one.
