I think it would be great to have a certification for Hitfilm - a curriculum and test sort of thing. Then Hitfilm Certified Professional can be added to resumes and such...
Cool, but theyre going to ask for portfolios anyways, so I dont see how this would benefit anyone. Bragging rights?
Based on what I know, no employer cares about what program you use to make something.

Any certification lends weight to employers. Not only that, but it will help create more dedicated Hitfilm users that are doing as much as they can with the application...
Dude, I gotta tell ya. Certs don't mean squat. It's your reel and what you did to create the visuals that employers are looking for.
And being in the room while someone else did the work doesn't count.
Certs work up to the point where it means that you have spent the time and resources to get the cert. Which can mean that you are trainable. But that's about it.
