I was interest to see the CDPROJECKT logo at the end, creators of the superb Witcher games. Also the people who put out these rather good shorts to promote their games:

If Real STEEL had been more like this (by which I mean, two minutes long), it might have been enjoyable.

You're insane, Aculag. Real Steel was great.  The above video is nicely done too, though i wouldn't exactly call it homemade.

^^^  Yeah I guess that works.  Oh MichaelJames, you clever bastard.
Axel, I was driven insane by the terrible script. Maybe I should give it another shot.  The most I remember of it was that Evangeline Lilly had to say "Charlie" like twenty million times, give or take a few million.  I did really enjoy the robot fighting aspects, but I couldn't take the inane dialogue.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Real Steel as well. It reminded me of those old '80s movies like Flight of the Navigator or Explorers. Its cheesy, but fun.

Real Steel was good, it was a interesting take on a classic story.  They weren't trying to reinvent the wheel here... So some people weren't a fan of this tale way back when... and they wouldn't be now.  Certain stories and genres do not actually go big... and its ok for them to just do ok.  I know we think VFX sells movies... but I don't wanna mention Battleship and John Carter(though this is a good movie) as examples of vfx doing nothing to help the movie in terms of finding an audience.
