Audio and video are not synced

Hey, I've just started learning HitFilm 4 express, I've for the most part be very pleased by the program, but at one point in the video there was a loading screen, in the video straight from the recorder the loading screen was recorded but in Hitfilm it wasn't and made the audio and video desync please help

Sounds like your footage is variable frame rate, which Hitfilm (and other NLE's) doesn't like. I'm gonna guess this is screen recorded game footage or shot on a phone.
Youshould follow the tutorials in this thread. The first shows how to convert to a constant framerate using Handbrake. The second shows optimized mp4 settings.
