Tracking a flare
Hi everyone, I'm presently working on a project where I need to track a scene so I can place a lens flair on it, so it will stay put. I'm working in hitfilm 4 express, so I 2d tracked my scene with two points so I would have the position, and rotation. Then I applied that information too a point layer. So now all I need to do, is too perent the flare too the point. Simple right? Well I was able to parent it to the point so that it was in the exact position of the point, but I need to place the flare, somewhere else. If I move the point it just messes everything up. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Do you have your point set to be a 3D point?

Sounds like you need to adjust the "anchor points" of the flare once its been parented but you are probably changing the transfor "position" of the flare

Change the Hotspot position of the flare. It will move the light but still follow the tracking data.

Part of my problem is that I'm having to put my flare into my main video. so if I perent the video too the point layer, the whole video moves!
