Making individual parts of a 3D model transparent

How do I go about making parts of an imported 3D model transparent . . . like the windscreen? I want to place myself inside the cockpit of a spaceship, but when I move the image to where it needs to be I vanish. How do I fix this?

@Tedinator01- Off hand, I would check the 3D model properties to see if the windscreen is listed separately from the rest of the parts of the model. If it is, you can adjust the opacity from the individual part control under the materials tab. You probably don't want to set the opacity to 0 if you want it to look like you're in the cockpit so check out how 50% looks and go higher or lower from there.

So in your media list, find the model and click on the cog icon in the upper right hand corner of the box. That will give you access to the model's properties.

    Hope that helps!
