Dear hitfilm forum people, when I import my .wmv files they are always cut short by up to half. Any advice welcome, thanks, Reuben
Hi, that sounds odd, have you tried converting the WMV files to a WAV file and seeing if that fixes it. I know you want to bring these in, but this first step will at least tell if it is something audio coding related.
My guess is the WMV files are at 15fps and you're putting them into a 30 fps project--effectively speeding them up by a factor of 2.
I am having exactly the same issue as ReubenPuddy with Hitfilm Express 2021.1
I screen captures twice and wanted to use Hitfilm to bring tham together and ticy them up but the video portion ends at 53 secs while the audio continues to just over a minute. ?!?
@mrtdcs If you have checked your frame rates to make sure they match as Triem23 says in the post above you, then since you mention screen captures you should make sure you are not dealing with VFR footage as a lot of those recorders do capture in it.
A media info report will help to determine this. It is a free program available here:
This video should explain how to use it. You can generate a tree report and then copy and paste the results here to be looked over by someone who understands far better than I about these things. In the case it is VFR, here are some links on Transcoding:
Handbrake is also a free program and can be found here:
Hope this helps you out.
