I broke my back

Hi guys,
I'm sorry if the following doesn't make sense because I'm on pain meds.

But this morning I fell and broke several vertebrae in my lower back. Its very painful, but it doesn't look like there will be any lasting damage.
Just wanted to let you know. Because even if I don't post here very often I do read EVERYTHING, and some of you guys feel like friends to me. Even though I've never met any of you :)
Anyway I'm in quite a bit of pain and should be for the next two or three weeks :(
I might do some drugy-Hitfilming though, which should be interesting ;)
Well that's my sob story, talk to you guys later,
Kahveh

    That's awful. Feel better, man!
My best friend broke both of his legs, shattering one almost completely and cracking the opposing kneecap, in a skiing accident last year and has been in a perpetual state of recovery ever since, having surgery again next month- so I feel the weight of dealing with such an awful thing. It's rough, to break multiple bones or be in debilitated state.
But the important thing, as you stated, is that it isn't permanent. And- with time- all things that can heal will. And you'll be back on your feet and feeling good. So keep your chin up and stay positive. It's just a speedbump in life.

Sorry to hear that Kahveh, as Andrew says it's a rough thing to go through.
Wishing you a full and speedy recovery from everyone at FXhome HQ.

Kahveh- Glad to see you still have a sense of humor through, what I can only imagine, is a most difficult time. Looking forward to some HF vids while you're under the influence. Maybe it will do for you what LSD did for The Beatles......your case being 'legal' substances. ;)
Do what the doctor says & I'll be prayin' for ya to heal up quickly!

    Yikes!  How did it happen?
My dad fell down a collapsed mine shaft last March and broke some of his lower vertebrae pretty badly.  His recovery took a while, but he also neglected to do his physical therapy, so I think he probably has permanent damage that will come back for him later on.  It's definitely important to be properly rehabilitated after something like that.  Good luck to you, Kahveh!

Thanks so much guys! something that's kinda funny(and sort of not funny) is that my 16th birthday was three days before I fell.
"happy birthday Kahveh! enjoy the pain for the next three months :)"
Anyway, getting sleep is tough. But I'm getting by ok.
Long story short, I was on a swing set(which was intended for my weight and age measurements) and it broke mid air sending me falling 6 or 7 feet onto my back. I landed more or less butt first, then my head snapped back and smashed onto the ground giving me a large goose egg on the back of my head. I honestly thought when I fell that I couldn't move. Once help came I actually felt pretty good so I tried standing on my knees, which worked but still hurt very bad. Because I was able to get on my knees the people around me decided that we could wait for my parents to come and take me to the hospital, rather then call a ambulance. So I laid in the mud and rain at the bottom of a swing set for over an hour. Finally my parents showed up and took me to the hospital. I felt like Batman from the Dark Knight Rises, just less epic. When we got to the hospital I was pretty embarrassed by the whole thing, just thinking I had sprained my back muscles or something. But when I found out I had broken a vertebrae and cracked a couple others, I felt a whole lot better about my reaction. Although its kinda hard to believe that I was laying in the rain for over an hour completely soaked and muddy, with a broken back. Geeezz!!!
Thanks for the encouraging words, they really do make it hurt less :)

Wow! Sorry to hear about that. Take care of yourself and I hope you get feeling better soon.
You sure got me beat. All I did was lock my knees for about 30 minutes while recording my daughter's ballet school recital a couple weeks ago. The area I could set up my tripod was really tight, so I couldn't move. I fainted and hit my jaw on a wooden armrest on the way down. Nothing broken, though.

You need to replace the swing set in that story with a supervillain of some sort. Being smashed to the ground from 6 or 7 feet by a supervillain = better story.  And you could make a movie of it once you are up and around again.
Here's hoping that everything goes to plan with the recovery, though, and that you are back to your old self as soon as possible.

Haha! it is a stupid embarrassing story, but it is the truth no matter how lame it is :) and yes I should make up some sort of crazy story to tell to people when they ask me how I broke it. Got any ideas?

My go-to excuse for any injury is that I got in a fight with a bear.

Let's see, you're not old enough to claim you were filming porn and fell out of bed when things got too rough. That would be the coolest cover story. :P
How about you were performing a stunt for _____________ (insert Hollywood director's name here) on their latest film and the rig they had you strapped into, to make some flying scenes, broke. Voila!
I broke my wrist once. I was trying to boost myself up onto a stage, fell backwards and landed on my right arm precariously. My grandpa gave me a great cover story. He said I should tell people I was in a bar fight. Trouble was, I was only six years old at the time.
Get well soon and Happy Birthday (early)!!!!!!

In slightly-related news, I've just now realized even though I've cut off half of my pinky finger before and suffered major diseases, I've never actually broken a bone. Wonder what that feeling is like.

Haha! I was doing a stunt for Michael Bay's new movie and the explosion was too big so I flew back and hit Mark Wahlberg so hard I bounced off and hit Shia Labeouf and broke my back. Although I got the good side of the deal. Shia wont be acting for a long time ;)
    How was that! :)
Thanks for being so nice and encouraging!

(when I clicked the post button it didn't do anything for about 20 seconds. So I pressed it until I thought it had posted. But instead it posted itself four times! sorry. . . can a mod take care of this?)

    Sorry about your back...

Same here. I came about as close as you can get to breaking my ankle without ACTUALLY breaking it, and that was ridiculously painful and took months to heal. But I've never actually broken anything - which makes me a little fearful of what it must be like.

I've only just seen this, I'm so sorry to hear about your injury. As others have said, with time things will heal & I wish you a speedy recovery.
The only bones I've ever broken are a couple of ribs, I was cycling to work one morning past some parked cars on a road a few years back & someone without checking their mirrors just opened their car door right into me. My bike took most of the force, destroyed one of my brake levers & rammed the handlebars into my rib cage cracking two of them. They took a long time to heal as there is nothing that can be done for this type of injury & they still hurt every now & again, but I was more annoyed at the damage to my bike!
