Hey guys, i have found some useful panoramas (some 360 x 180 degrees, like the one Simon used in this video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=esP4VxMyG3s
Here is the link the the pack i put together. Not all the pictures are top quality, but nice to experiment with. Not all the are 360 x 180 degrees, some are just 360 degrees, you'll see whats what. have a try and experiment with them. 8-|

Thanks Mjolner. When you say you 'found them" - can you please let us know where you found them, and who the image creators are? That way we can thank the creators for letting you distribute their images for free.

Astounding! Great job, Mjølner Pictures!

Why is there so much distortion compared to the one that Simon did? Is it just because of the quality of the image?

One thing I'd really like to see would be a tutorial similar to Simon's one above on using spherical panoramas as environment maps, but also incorporating using Mocha to generate a camera solve from footage of someone shot against a greenscreen background with panning, dolly shots, etc - to place them into this kind of wraparound environment.
One of the ideas I've been toying with has been generating spherical panoramas in Vue Esprit to then import into Hitfilm this way.
Believe it or not - I'm still using ye olde HF1 Ultimate (for all manner of current financial and logistical reasons, sadly), but this kind of functionality might really push me over the edge to finally upgrade to HF2.(along with all the other cool new functionality as well, of course! B-) )

Yea, there are very much distortion on these images. I have seen that the image Simon was using was much better put together, so then the result were much more realistic.
But after all its an cool effect if you stare into the middle of the screen when the camera moves.
