Here's a freebie alternative that gives you one cable. A self set donation gets you two more. I haven't tested it with HitFilm but I have used it in the past
Ugh, I still have the old patch diagram for the old home studio. Yup. 256 patch points. A fun configure.
Because when anyone triea something different, everyone else digs in. Remember when Yamaha tried sending 4 channels of audio and 128 channels of Midi on USB? No one else wanted to pay royalties on the proprietary format. Basically a consortium is gonna have to agree on a standard.
Simple greed. License fees suck. That said, Yamaha put a lot of work into that interface. It was elegant. Companies are allowed to profit from investment and R&D. The greed comes when everyone tries to push a proprietary standard rather than choose to cooperate and share.
Thanks to @JoshDaviesCEO I can say that FxHome pays out in excess of $110 in licensing fees on every upgrade or purchase of Hitfilm. So one can see how well priced the software truly is. I would not be surprised if many of the items on the wishlist are held back by licensing.
@Sarasota in this thread, I assumed $110 in licensing fees for Hitfilm sales. Josh said I had underestimated all factors, so I stand by it. The point is just noting FxHome is one of the not-evil companies.
