Atomic Particles Can Explode...

...a 3d model. From discussions in another thread I came up with a quick video using Atomic Particles to explode a 3d model. This is just my take on it. Obviously there would be a lot of different ways to animate this effect. I turned the random opacity and random size of the particles down while upping the number of particles and their size. Then I animated the disperse controls. I parented the Atomic Particles to a 3d point so I could rotate the explosion. I added a couple of layers of glow and animated them to turn on during the explosion One glow is white, the other is yellow. There is also a lot of lens flare and lens dirt because I can't get enough of that look (I'm ok with Abrams doing Star Wars).

That's a great effect I have used atomic particles to explode 3d models but it's all the extra bits you put in that really sell the effect and rotating them around a 3d point looks great
