Hitfilm for commercial purposes?
Hello,
I have a question and have been looking in the forum but found nothing suitable.
Here is my situation.
I produce videos and I sell them on my own website.
My question is:
If I start to work with the Hitfilm Standard version (or a higher version), Am I allowed to use intros, outro and other effects that I may create with this tool for my commercial videos? Or are all effects copyrighted by you (FXhome) ?
In other words. If I create something with the Hitfilm standard edition, Am I still allowed to sell my videos or is that a copyright issue?
Yours sincerely,
Tobi

@Tobi I do not work for Hitfilm but I'd assume if you buy their software that you can use it and sell the projects that you make. It would really go against their focus on indie filmmakers if they didn't let them do anything with the effects they create for their movies.

@Mchl496
Thank you for your quick answer! That sounds very promising
Maybe someone from the Hitfilm Team can confirm this?

Hey Tobi, Mchl496 is correct. While the software itself belongs to us, media created using the software is entirely yours. We want HitFilm to be used on as many projects as possible, so there are no restrictions along those lines.

Hello Simon, thanks for your answer. That are very good news, I guess I'll be a hitfilme user soon :-)

is that like saying "all your base are belong to us?"
... While the software itself belongs to us... -
What he is saying is that the software is licensed to us. If someone copies said software and tries to sell it second hand or market it as their own then they are legally in trouble. The product you produce with the software is your own, similar to Adobe, Maya etc.
