i was wondering if im the youngest person using Hitfilm, because i should get some sort of prize
because you don't usually see a 12 year old using all his money to buy hitfilm standard, i should get some sort of prize, so thats all. :(( :(( :((

Oooh yeh, do this Hitfilm and then I'll get my 2 year old to buy the software so we he gets a prize too!
I'm sorry to say being 12 isn't a special achievement, and if I were you I'd just be grateful I had $150 to spend at that age along with a computer to use software like this on!
All that said, I honestly don't know if you're being serious or not but consider me fooled if not.

Well done for getting into film so young, definitely a good time to be creative. :)
We've actually had lots of very young users over the years. The Corridor Digital guys, Sam and Niko, were about your age when they first started using our software. Look at 'em now. ;)

If I recall, TimmyD was either 9 or 10 when he was poking around FXhome in the beginning. Definitely has 12 beat. I was 12 when I started out under a different account name, bought when I was 14, and am going on to 23 now.
So yeah, plenty of people have you beat in plenty of different ways, champ. ;)

It's interesting to think how things have changed. At the slight risk of you all thinking I'm some kind of ancient being, when I was 12 things were very different: no YouTube, no world wide web, certainly no mainstreaming of the internet, no HD resolutions at all outside of expensive film, no AVCHD or HDV or miniDV, no DSLRs, no hi8. I think I may have had a terrible 8mm tape camcorder back then, except there was no way to edit without access to the more expensive VHS VCR rigs, and even then they were inaccurate and horrendously linear in their workflow. Terminator 2 had just come out, Jurassic Park didn't yet exist, and Star Wars was still cool.
In terms of indie filmmaking, I definitely prefer now. ;)

My first computer was a VIC-20. I used a Commodore PET at school. I then went through the C-64, and several Amigas before finally switching over to the PC.
Here's the part that really dates me... I was born the year Star Trek, the original series, premiered.

Doesn't count if he didn't get it when he was 9 or 10
    P.S
i wanted after effects since i was 7, but i obviously couldn't buy that (i almost bought
it for $300 on ebay, figured it was pirated) so i spent 1 year looking for other software when i was 8. Therefore i found hitfilm when i was 9 and bought it 2 years later when i was 12. So my point is that I was looking at hitfilm the same age as TimmyD so HA

HitFilm's only been out for 1 year, so you can't have waited quite that long. :D
Always good to see people going the legit route rather than the pirated route, though. It's appreciated.

I'm sorry but I find you weird. It has become obvious that you created this thread solely to argue. Whilst we have been joking about how old we are, you see no humour in it and are trying to prove something, but what? Adult dominance? Do you not like the fact that most people here are adults? It's strange. Also, it's people who behave like you who threaten to disrupt awesome communities such as this one.
    P.S. I'm only 13.
P.P.S You said you found it whilst you were 9 and then bought it two years later when you were 12. In case you haven't realized, 9+2=11 NOT 12. SHEESH.

I was making films since i was around 4-5 years old. I've been using fxhome software since i was 11-12. Age doesn't matter, it is just the skill that matter. If you are alright at making films when you are 12 you will be brilliant when you are older.
(freddiew's video he made when he was 15 was not good, but now he is brilliant!)
i don't know what i am trying to say, but hey, lol
good luck with ur filming though!

    12 and using HitFilm!?!?!?!?
Why when I was your age we didn't have bicycles. I had to go out in the woods, chop down a tree, and whittle myself one. Sometimes all we had to play with was a paper bag, and we liked it! No sir not one complaint.
    12 and using HitFilm......actually it's way cool.

No disrespect intended, but you aren't that special.
As has been said, other young people did begin with Fxhome products years ago.
Continuously asking for a prize just because you think you are entitled to it is a bit rude.
Use your time to learn Hitfilm more so you can use your skills to enter Hitfilm competitions and possibly win a prize.

Sorry, but the only prizes you get tend to be because you won a film competition. So wait for the next one, make and entre your a film into it, then if you come first you can get a prize! :)
You can't get one just because you are young, if you did get one, many people would be annoyed as lots of people started when they were young, so therefore they would also want a prize, it's just not very fair giving prizes out to, no offence here, to someone who may not be any good at film making.
On that note, have you made any films with hitfilm,, I'd be interested to see what you are doing at age 12 :)
    Good luck
