I Noticed there wasn't any topics on photography on here, so i thought i'd set the ball rolling with this one!
I'm not really a photographer, but i enjoy going out and taking photos now and again, the fact that a lot of us now have DSLR's means there must be others who casually dabble in photography, so lets see everyones photography skills!
Heres a few photos from a recent trip to Berlin:

Great pics StrikeEm! That first picture of the Neutrala zone (titled nutral zone2) is very chilling i think- what's the story behind that? Is it a border? It's a great picture though.

The above is one of my fav pictures at the moment- it's a picture of Filey brigg- North Yorkshire- the brigg is the platform of rocks jutting into the sea that vanishes at high tide- it was an amazing place- the brown cliffs on the lleft are actually mud/sand that ove rthe years has eroded and collapsed- it was a surreal site- like a cross between mars and the grand canyon- it was hard to believe that they were in england. The picture doesn't really give a good impression of the scale but the cliffs rose to about 300-400 foot. I used this picture in my new production diary update in the titles. I also took a picture facing the other way which you can see in the titles of my 2nd production diary- they were also cliffs but they looked like the white cliffs of Dover, or the final scene of the new robin hood. It was hard to believe all this scenery was in a area of about a mile of coastline.
Great topic mate, i can't wait to see other peoples photos.
Sam -
nice looking cliff, love those sorts of locations.
The 'neutral zone' images were taken in Sachenhousen concentration camp, the neutral zone was a small gravelly border next to the camp's inner wall next to an electric fence, the 'neutral zone' was weapons free so camp guards could shoot any people who stepped onto it, many saw it as a 'suicide zone' as you would either be shot or run at an electric fence. It's a grim and generally quite haunting place to visit but it's very eye opening to get a sense of what the people who had been forced into the camps had to go through.
Heres a couple more from the Camp:

There have been quite a few changes made since the camp was in operation, the bay windows since in this photo would have been a machine gun nest watching over the camp, this area in front of the building is what was known as the 'Role call area'. -

Proof positive that it's the photographer that makes a picture, not the equipment.

Although I do have a Canon G7 with a fisheye lens converter that I love dearly. Such a wonderful camera. -
I think this one is especially good.
It seems to suggest that the use of barbed wire destroys an otherwise peaceful environment, and that something awful occured here in the past that we can't forget.
Very nice!
-
Yeah, agreed - the barbed wire pic is particularly evocative. I like also that it's non-specific enough to feel like it could apply to lots of different situations/locations. It's difficult to pin down to a single country or time.

here is some of my lego stuff, i am making another picture at the moment
i will post later if i can

Figuring out how to upload photos...

Wow, that are some awesome pictures popping up here!

What camera u use robin?
-
A Canon EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi if you're in northern America or Kiss Digital X if you're in Japan). That's the same camera I shoot all my stop motions with.
What camera u use robin? -
Something tells me that the careful selection of subject matter, attention to framing and composition, and judicious selection of point of view which makes these good photos has nothing to do with the model of the camera involved.
Nice photos, everyone. I'll have to try get a few of my own on here one of these days. -
well, i know that lol, but robin does stop motion as well as me, and I would like to know if that's the one he uses for stop motion, and if so, what is it :P hehe but if you don't have a remotely good camera it will be harder to get the shot you want as it might not have the right focus range for the shot you want, etc

Thanks Simon!
@Marc: Wow, those look amazing! I especially like the reddish one... I can't for the sake of my life figure out what it is, but it looks great -
@Robin: Thank you very much 8-) The reddish one is a building in Frankfurt/Main called "MyZeil":

some really great photos in this thread,
As well as learning hitfilm im trying to learn about photography I dont think ive got anything good enough for this thread yet but im really enjoying seeing peoples work -
Defo one awesome photos in this thread, and I do love some of majahr's photos and others...
Here is my latest one I made/ took http://www.flickr.com/photos/froiproductions/6777953364/ -
I really like some of the Photos in this thread. I Particularly like the macro and night lights stuff. Wish i had a macro lens. Here are a few of mine:

Probably my all-time favourite picture I've taken. Spaceship stuck on the side of a tree! biggest fungi I found that day, was as huge as the picture makes it look.

Really liked how the sky reflected in the water that day.

I love playing with a camera during Fireworks - the way you can literally capture something over time in a still. -
Yes..a macro lense tooks you right into another world 8-| Here's another macro of two bees making some...ähhh...well...
)

If you've saving money for a macro lense, you don't regret it,
Marc -
That bee pic is amazingly detailed, I want a macro lens! Lol
-
I'm surprised how well received some of the photos i took were, I've always just liked to take a few photos in my spare time, but i guess the film work has helped the photography side and vice versa. I was going to reply to this a while back, but i've been busy and having written a fairly long post about the photos, then being signed out of everything just as i was about to post it, threw me off as i couldn't remember what i wrote.
I tried hard getting the right photos while at that Concentration camp, it's not the type of place you take a pile of photos, you have to find a way to portray it correctly.
Heres a photo I took today, I got myself a circular polariser filter.
